We have had some excellent match weights
with our lake records broken in what has been
a fantastic summer. The three hour evening match record is now 111lb with the Sunday five hour open match record being 187lb both of these records were set on the pole. The lake record is 400lb caught by James Anthony on the feeder. |
Anglers fishing the pole need to be prepared for some epic battles with the fish on the pole line being some of the hardest fighting fish you will ever hook.
All baits are worth a try, but depending on your chosen method, boilies, groundbait feeder, meat, corn, cat meat and pellets all work well.
Worms and casters are also excellent baits particularly for the Tench, Bream and Silver fish.

If Carp are your preferred quarry then standard ledgering or feeder tactics work best with catches of over 30 fish a day common place.
The main stock of carp are mirrors and commons that are between 5lbs and 10lbs there are also hundreds of double's with a good head of 20's
