"Intense" Particle Range

First Impressions

When you speak to the majority of anglers about bait, they will automatically start going into boilies and nutritional values etc of said man-made baits, but there are anglers out there that are taking waters apart doing the complete opposite to the majority and fishing with particles. Almost any nut, seed, bean or pulse can be used in fishing if prepared correctly, but there are some types of natural particle bait that stand out from the crowd, and are well reknowned for catching some of the largest carp that swim in waters where they have been used.

CC Moore are one company that have had particles in their range for a long time and some anglers will refuse to go fishing without a jar of particles of some sort from the company in their armoury. Using their expertise over the years in selecting only the very best in raw particles and through preparation processes to bring out the very best in the chosen bait, the "Intense" range of prepared particles was born. Anglers don't really have that much time to prepare their own bait and grabbing a jar of ready prepared bait out of the shed or the local tackle shop is much more convienient than having to soak particles for 24 hours then boiling them up until ready.

Some of the team at UKMA do use particles in the warmer months as much as they do boilies, so we asked CC Moore to send some up to us to take a look at.

The first that we looked at were the Tiger Nuts in Talin. In the range there are two types - standard and XXL. Any angler who has a tiny bit of knowledge about the sport will know that tiger nuts have accounted for more fish than they could ever imagine, but the mis-use or poorly prepared nuts have caused a lot of fisheries to ban them from their waters. Tiger Nuts are naturally sweet themselves, but in the pre-preparation to the boiling process, CC Moore have added a natural sweetener to the liquid called Talin. The addition of Talin into the pre-preparation process allows the solution to soak into the nut and when the bait is prepared allows for a even distribution of the sweetener throughout the nut rather than just on the outside. The CC Moore Tigers in Talin are quite hard still - as you would expect from a nut - but you can push a safety barbed needle through them with some care or if you don't fancy that, you can use a bait drill to make a hole through the bait.

Top Tips - Use two nuts and using a large diameter bait drill and a cork stick, you can create a balanced hookbait that will fly into the mouth on a feeding fish moving over the baited area. With the nut horizontally, drill approximately hafway through the bait, and thread onto the hair wth the cork stick sat ecapsulated in the two baits.
With tiger nuts, it can be a case of "less is more" as fish can become preoccupied on these baits. All that is needed as loose offerings with tiger nuts is a handful at the most. Fish tiger nuts over other particle bait such as hemp, mixed particle blends or CC Moore White Haze for some fantastic results.

The 1 Litre jars of Tigers in Talin have a RRP of £6.49 or can be purchased in larger 2.5 Litre jars for £9.99. The XXL Tigers in Talin are available in 1 Litre jars only with a RRP of £7.99.

The next products we looked at are the Particles in Talin and a unique product from CC Moore called White Haze.

The Particles in Talin is what most anglers will know as Partiblend but with CC Moores own unique twist on the preparation process. As with the Tiger Nuts, the mixed particles have been soaked in a solution which includes Talin that sweetens the whole mix up beautifully. The mixture of mini seeds and other populat particles in the mix make this a firm favourite with anglers that want a very effective spod mix or want to create feeding spots over areas that may not usually have fish feeding on them. Some very large fish have been caught over a bed of the CC Moore Particles in Talin and these should be in every anglers armoury. When mixed with other particles, creating your own unique spod mix to suit the situation is something that any angler can do and stil catch fish.

White Haze is a unique product that is only available from CC Moore. Anglers that have used this blend of light coloured seeds have been overwhelmed by how successful the product has been. Due to the milky white colouration of the prepared product, it is something that anglers have not seen before and the fish do not feel spooked when they see it in the water as a bed of these seeds and pulses is very rarely seen. White Haze contains perfectly prepared groats, haricot beans, wheat, crushed peanuts, coarse ground tiger nuts as well as a few skinned Tiger Nuts (which are a fantastic hookbait!). The particles are prepared in a solution that includes CC Moores new white nut liquid and cooked in the jar for that perfect freshness and to keep all the nutrients in the mix.

White Haze is going to become one of those "cult" baits that anglers like to keep tight to their chest, but as we believe that there are no secrets in carp fishing anymore, we urge all anglers to give it a go. One of the team here at UKMA salivates at the mere mention of White Haze, and he knows a good bait when he sees one!

Both the Particles in Talin and White Haze are available in 2.5 litre jars at a RRP of £7.49 (Particles) and £7.99 (White Haze).

Final Thoughts

As these baits are developed to be short term shelf life as long as the seal is not broken, they are perfect to leave in the car just in case they are needed or in a cool, dark place in the shed. If there is any bait left in the jar after it has been opened, it can be reused by being frozen upon getting home so there is very little wastage. Particle baits are very underused by most angler nowadays which is a shame as a lot of anglers are missing out on success by sticking to a boilie only approach. The team at UKMA have all been impressed with the CC Moore "Intense" range of particle baits, that at least one of the team has stated that these are the only particles he will be using from now on.

Once we have been out and fully put the particles through their paces on a couple of venues, we will be updating with our thoughts and findings.

Well done CC Moore for stepping away from the plate and bringing some new twists to the world of particle baits.
