Mistral Baits Instant Carp Food

Monster Crab

With 2011 well and truly up and running, anglers are out and about looking for practical baiting solutions that are versatile, original and capable of enticing their chosen prey. Couple this with the recession that the whole world seems to be affected by, anglers are also looking for value for money with regards to their angling. A lot of anglers are tightening the purse strings with regards to buying bait and other items of tackle, and where as before they may have been bulk buying bait and stocking freezers, many anglers today are looking at buying much smaller amounts of bait and turning off their bait freezers (to save electricity) and turning to shelf life alternatives. With this in mind Mistral Baits have increased their Instant Carp Food range of baits with the classic Monster Crab flavour for 2011.

The Instant Carp Food range have been developed to offer value for money to the angler and will appeal to the session angler that wishes to carry a "change bait" with them as well as the angler that may fish once or twice a year and doesn't want to spend a lot of money on bait that they may not use all of. The Instant Carp Food range have also been taken onboard by the younger angler that doesn't get a lot of pocket money or that their parents have had to hold back on the amount of money they can give "Little Johnny" to go fishing with.

The Monster Crab flavour has been around in angling circles for as many years as I care to remember but fell out of favour for newer flavours, but is still equally effective as it was back when carp angling with specialist baits was at an infancy. The deep red colouration that Mistral have chosen for this bait is one that is not too dark to be missed by a sight feeding fish nor too bright to cause suspicion with wary fish. As you would expect from the Monster Crab flavour it absolutely STINKS, so unless you plan on getting divorced, do not open this one up in the kitchen (especially the dip!) as if it is spilled, the wife will be down the solicitors as soon as she can!

The Instant Carp Food Monster Crab range is made up of 15mm and 20mm boilies in shelf life form which have a RRP of £7.99 a kilo, matching sized pop-ups with a RRP of £3.99 (150ml tub) for the 15mm and £5.99 (200ml tub) for the 20mm and a boosted hookbait dip which sells for £4.25 for a 150ml bottle.

Final Thoughts

I am not one that likes the revolting flavours, but they cannot be ignored due to how successful they are on so many waters. A lot of anglers will ignore these baits due to the lower price tag, and with angling snobbery becoming more common, it is a shame as the anglers that overlook any bait coul dbe missing out on catching that fish of a lifetime. Monster Crab is an all time classic flavour and should not be ignored as there is no such thing as a "bad bait" anymore. The Monster Crab will also be of interest to the angler that wishes to travel overseas to areas which see a lot of ver high temperature weather and want a bait that is not going to cost the earth, will keep for the duration of the trip (and longer if any left over) as well as catching fish. If you haven't used Monster Crab in the past, give it a go!
