Nash Baits iC-1

With so many new baits available today it’s hard to find a food source that will suit an all year round approach and catch fish in all temperatures. One of the established bait manufacturers who have this down to a fine art is with out question Nash Tackle. Over the years Gary Bayes and the bait development team at Nash Tackle have took great pride in producing some of the biggest selling boillie flavours of all time. With the legendary Scopex Squid Plus Robin Red being copied by anyone with a rolling table, Nash needed a new bait to step up and take centre stage, enter the iC-1.

Vital Statistics

The latest bait offering from Nash Tackle is the all new iC-1. The mix has been tested for as long as the Mach 1 has been about and started life as Mach 3. When the Mach 1 was released it was a toss up between the 2 because both were equally as good as the other. The one obvious difference between the two baits is that the Mach 1 contains Robin red in the base mix where as the iC1 does not. The base mix is a very balanced mix of fish meals, yeasts, bird foods and highly digestible carbohydrates, which make the iC-1 a perfect all year round, bait solution

The balance of nutrition from different sources gives a near perfect vitamin, mineral, protein and energy source for mature fish (Chunks) Attraction wise, there is a light curry, herb and spice blend and crustacean/mollusc extracts in the base mix that are primarily for the taste but are semi-water soluble giving out an eat me signal. The
iC-1’s Liquid attraction is a blend of soluble food sources, such as liver, betaine, malt sugars together with Indian spice oil palatant, mature lobster palatant and a special flavour mainly comprised of essential oils and a blend of sweeteners.

The iC-1 is available as follows;

To put them through their paces we used the 15mm and 18mm shelf live boillies for the test and they performed admirably. In each 750g bag of boillies you get five free Pop Up’s which was a very nice touch and made it possible to vary the presentation of our hook baits and establish just how the fish wanted it at any given time during the session. Another member of the iC-1 family which impressed us was the iC-1 food dip, by using this on our hook bait we found the time from casting to the take was greatly reduced but this is based only on my personal findings.

Final Thoughts

The iC-1 is a complete food source that will catch fish in all weathers. We at UKMA know this for a fact because we’ve tried it. The mild curry aroma works perfectly in cold and warmer climates and I have now 18 fish in three session on the IC-1 including 9 in one 36 hour session, ranging from upper doubles to mid twenties (considering the venue I was on has nothing swimming in it over 28lb, I was quite impressed). As I’m a fond believer in savoury baits this will become a part of my bait arsenal I’m sure over the coming months, watch this space for future update.
