Starfish

Super Aroma Additives

First Impressions

When a new company brings out a range of baits in the UK, anglers sit up and take a look - especially if it comes from the Continent. With groundbaits over the years coming in to the UK from Europe from companies such as Van den Eynde, Sensas, Geers and others, and all proving themselves to be very good fish attractors and being successful to the extent of almost becoming household names.

Willy Worms have been over to the continent and joined up with Polish bait company, Starfish, to distribute their range of groundbaits and other baits in the UK.

A lot of anglers in the UK will not have heard of Starfish, but on doing a little bit of research online, they have been proven to produce baits that do catch fish and lots of them.

When Willy Worms sent UKMA a box of bait to take a look at, we had to get stuck right in. In the box were two bags of Super Aroma Additives, one CARP and the other FEEDER. Starfish have blended the ingredients of these super concentrated powdered additives together to suit certain situations and speces attraction.

Both the CARP and FEEDER additives have an aroma that is almost identical in the main, but there are small subtle differences between the two in both smell and texture. The CARP has an orange/pink tinge to the colouration where as the FEEDER blend has a yellow/orange colouration. Yellow colourations with orange or red particles are widely used by the Continental anglers when fishing for Bream.

The Super Aroma range of powdered additives have been developed to be used in a variety of ways. The most used way is to add the dry powder to your dry groundbait mix to enhance fish attraction, but these powdered additivs can be used in a variety of ways such as sprinkled over damp pellets, maggots or other hookbaits or adding to boilie base mix recipes or for the old school anglers amongst us, floater cake specials. One of the most effective ways of using the Super Aroma additives is to add the dry powder to paste mixes before adding the liquid and using it fairly soft so that the paste breaks down in the water and releases the attraction around the feeding fish.

First Impressions

The Starfish Super Aroma blends look as if they will be as popular to the anglers as any of the other manufacturers similar products. The powdered additives have taken a step backwards in retail sales due to the majority of additives nowadays being liquids, but there is still a massive place in the market for powders. The main reason that powders are preffered by a lot of anglers is that it is easier to guage the levels added to the recipes per kilo of dry groundbait over adding liquid additives to the water used for mixing. Each bag of Super Aroma can boost upto 25/30kg of dry groundbait depending on how much you wish to add to the mix.

The Super Aroma additives are available direct from Willy Worms in 300g sachets which have a RRP of £3.49 each.
