The Atomic Tackle Chodda has been designed by some of the best anglers in the business and purpose built to meet the requirements of the legions of anglers now fishing the Chod as their main all year round tactic. We felt it was time to ask company MD Simon Healy to send a few sample packs over for the UKMA field testers to put through there paces, and as per usual he generously obliged.

First Impressions

The Atomic Tackle Chodda hook has all the features you would expect to find on a hook purposely designed for Chod and Stiff rig work. The hook is manufactured from heavy gauge carbon steel, that has a flawless black nickel finish but in time this will be changing to a non-rust Gun smoke finish. The alignment of the rig line and the shank of the hook are critical to chod presentations and because the Chodda hook has an upturned eye this will enable the hook to sit in the perfect position once the rig is tied and presented baited up in the water.

The Chodda has a flat shank which flows smoothly into the wide gape curve to the exceptionally sharp and extended point. This extended point makes it virtually impossible for the fish to eject your hook once it has penetrated the lip of the fish. To guarantee that your hook holds securely a micro barb is situated approximately 5mm from the tip of the hooks point. This micro barb is designed to secure the hook hold and in my opinion gives you a far better hook hold than a conventional barbed hook and is much easier and safer to remove.

The performance the hook offers is enhanced by the precise design of the out-turned eyed and extended point that give perfect presentation and with the addition of the micro barb, this gives rock-solid hook holds every time.
