Atomic Tackle
Stubbi Marker Floats range

Anyone who has used a marker float over the past decade has become accustomed to using the industry standard Long bodied floats with sight darts attached at the top, that are made from either Balsa wood or various forms of plastic. Although they have served there purpose and served them well, technological advancements in materials and design are making these original style Marker floats old hat. With ultra buoyant and lightweight materials like Ethylene Vinyl Acetate compounds (also known as EVA) now replacing the dated and brittle plastics and balsa woods, a new era in marker float technology has arrived.

Atomic Tackle have become one of the leading brands in Marker float development and design over the past year or so with the release of the superb Detecta marker Floats last year. These floats offered the tackle connoisseur a marker that was flexible accurate and incredibly buoyant. So with materials and design features on the money, Company MD Simon Healey listened to his team of consultants who were telling him to release a shorter version of the Detecta for shallow or weedy swim situations and the Surrey based Company have done just that with the release of the all new for 2011 Stubbi Marker Float range.

As with there bigger brothers, the Stubbi Marker Floats are currently available in three practical colour options. You have Lime Green, Flouro Orange and Black with White Stripes and as any angler will tell you that these three options will offer a more than visible indicator against any light conditions or backdrop colouration you will ever encounter whilst angling.

The Stubbi Marker Floats has the same permanently fixed Sight flights as the Detecta to ensure you don’t loose them during casting. At the base of the Stubbi you have a very robust roller swivel which allows easy connection to your reel line and reliable strength when casting.

Final Thoughts

The all new for 2011 Stubbi Marker Floats are going to make many friends over the coming months. These 6inch long marker floats are perfect when you don’t need half a foot of day glow float under the surface or when simply marking your area for a recast or baiting up. When testing the Stubbi’s buoyancy UKMA found that they are more than buoyant enough to find there way back to the surface, even in densely weeded areas. These useful Marker floats are now available from all leading Atomic Tackle stockists and will sell for around the £5.80 mark which isn’t a lot for reliable and practical piece of terminal tackle.
