ESP Super Floss

Anglers have been using dental floss for many purposes over the years from using the material as the first "supple" hooklink to tying on baits on rigs that require a bait with the optimum bouyancy, especially with rigs that require the bait to be tied on in the Chod Rig and Hinged Stiff Rig.

With almost every manufacturer having a floss in its range, the bottom line is that the material is virtually identical regardless of the name on the packaging. ESP have looked at making tying on baits as easy as possible and to bring something a little different to what has been available before.

The first thing you see when you pull some Super Floss off the spool dispenser is that the profile of the material is wider than normal and is flat. The flat profile of Super Floss makes it so much easier to tie onto a bait as the surface area is much greater and the bait doesn't slide out of the loop as it is being tightened. The other benefit of Super Floss is that it can be "licked" over lightly with the flame of a cigarette lighter and turns almost invisible on the bait surface. The additional width of the material over the original floss makes the Super Floss slightly stiffer, but easier to work with - especially for those with "sausage fingers".

Final Thoughts

I have been using the Super Floss for several months now and not had a single bait come off after being tied on with the new material. The way that the material turns translucent when licked with a lighter flame can only give more confidence to the angler that their rig is camouflaged. I must be honest and say that the trick with the lighter flame on the Super Floss might take a few attempts to perfect as anglers are some of the heavy handed people around. Even small hookbaits can be tied on with ease and the Super Floss doesn't bite into the bait surface as much as the original floss so those that do not use cork ball or dust pop-ups will find that their hookbaits stay bouyant for longer than they used to.

I have removed the other floss' from my armoury now as I cannot see any reason to use older floss over this product.
