JRC 3D Box Sleeping Bag

Those clever people at JRC have taken to the hills to come up with this ultra spacious, well designed sleeping bag system. The 3D or Box Bag system has been used in mountaineering for some time now and allows maximum internal space to be created without having to increase the width of the sleeping bag, a very clever idea indeed me thinks! So over the last 3 months UKMA have put the 3D Box Sleeping Bag through it's paces to see if it was up to the job in hand.

The first thing that caught my eye when I removed the 3D Box 3 Season from it's stuff bag and secured it to my bed chair was the amount of extra space created by the use of the additional 4 inch high side panels. These panels are what make this sleeping bag far more spacious than most others sleeping bags in the same price category.

Unlike a conventional sleeping bag, once you are inside the 3D Box Bag and zipped in, you have more than enough room to move yourself into a comfortable sleeping position and settle down for the night (even if you are fully grown gent like myself)

To make your relaxation that little bit more enjoyable, there is a zipped pouch to house the poly cotton Pillow that JRC supply with the 3D Box Sleeping Bag, which guarantees the location of the pillow every time you rest your weary head.

Whilst testing the 3D Box Bag 3 Season I experienced the full force of Winter, the unsettled weather patterns of Spring and the uncertainties our lovely Summer months are likely to delight us with and I can't find any real faults with this product. After 20 nights out on the Bank I can honestly say JRC have come up trumps, at no time did I find it essential to add extra layers of clothing even when wearing just a t-shirt and shorts on nights when the temperatures dropped to well below zero, for a 3 Season Sleeping bag this was very impressive.

The 3D Box Bag comes in 3 versions, you have a 3, 4 and 5 Season bag and I'm sure there is one in the range to cover every anglers personal requirements.
