A new introduction to the JRC range of accessories for 2010 is this pleasingly priced single wheeled tackle barrow. Designed with the mobile short session angler in mind, this is not the barrow for the angler who is planning on moving house but it is more than capable of carrying all the kit you’ll need for a couple of nights comfortably. It packs away flat and once the wheel and handles are removed it packs down to comfortably fit the boot of even the smallest of cars.

Constructed from heavy duty components and finished of in a military green powder coating you would never guess this barrow is half the price of many of its competitor’s offerings. All welds on the framework looked very neat and tidy with no sharp splatter that is common place on many barrows that are far more expensive. One very nice feature is the inclusion of four large bungee anchor points making the securing of your Bungee straps an easy task rather than an extremely dangerous one.  

To get the best performance out of the JRC single wheel barrow, it is imperative that the bulk of the weight is placed near the front or directly over the wheel. Then with bulky items like your bed chair placed behind these heavier items a flat loading area can be created, ideal for the stable transportation of rod sleeves or a quiver. With the barrow loaded in this way, it can be pushed over large distances without your arms taking the brunt of the load.

Final Thoughts

The barrows single wheeled design increases the overall mobility on the worst terrains, whilst also greatly improves the steering and general performance of the loaded barrow. Admittedly this is far from being the lightest barrow currently available on the market but it also far from being the heaviest. For the money you get a barrow that does exactly what it was designed to do without making any fuss or emptying your bank account.
