Korda have taken hooklink developments to the next level, with the highly anticipated release of the new for 2011 N-TRAP Soft Coated Hooklink. The N-TRAP has been specifically designed to assist in the making of virtually all types of rigs but really comes into its own when used to construct the new generation of advanced “Combi” style rigs that have proven so successful on many of the top carp angling Mecca’s over the past couple of years.

UPDATE: 22/03/2011: The latest colour option to join the Weedy Green in the increasingly popular N-Trap soft coated hooklink range is Gravel. To save repeating ourselves, the N-Trap Gravel  carries the same characteristics as the Weedy Green version but allows perfect camouflage when fishing venues with a predominantly gravel or similar bottom debris. As with the all colours in the range that are now available for a very reasonable £13.99 you get 20m of this super soft hooklink material per spool. Watch this space for our updates as the new colours become available over the coming weeks.

UPDATE: 08/04/2011: Danny and Co at KORDA have now released the third addition to the N-TRAP range of soft coated hooklink materials for 2011 The new silt version is designed to be used when fishing over silt beds but this dark colour has also found favour with anglers when fishing up to features where decomposed chod like leaves settles to create a natural dark bottom. Another worthy use for the N-TRAP silt is when fishing in shallow water especially margins; the dark non-reflective coating enables you to use a hooklink that even the most cautious of fish will ignore and feed confidently around. As with the other members of the N-TRAP family, the silt is available in 20m spools in 15lbs, 20lbs and 30lbs breaking strains and sells for £13.99 per spool

First Impressions

The team at Korda have come up with what on first impressions looks like very impressive and versatile hooklink option that totally screams carp. This has been made possible by incorporating two revolutionary new materials. These have been tried and tested by some of the biggest names in carp anglers over a very long period of time, to create a reliability that has not been achievable in any coated hooklink material previously available, a very big claim indeed.

Firstly you have the new style outer coating that ticks all the right boxes. It is a totally non-reflective material that is also incredibly supple, doesn’t require any steaming and is very easy to strip (I was able to strip back the coating with my finger nails). This encapsulates a tightly woven aerospace grade Dyneema that has been proven to be the most reliable and high tensile strength material available.

With these very impressive credentials, the team at UKMA are really looking forward to getting out on the bank in the next few weeks to really put the new N-TRAP Soft Coated Hooklink well and truly through its paces. Watch this space for our on the bank tests to follow very soon.
