Stealth Tackle Company Profile

Paul Mepham - Company Director

UKMA: Can you explain briefly how you got into angling?

Paul Mepham (PM): I first got into the angling at the ripe old age of eight this was through my father’s encouragement, I learnt how to catch Roach Rudd Tench and Bream once my father had taught me the art, I moved on to Carp fishing at the age of eleven, way back in 1977.

It has now been over thirty years since I started singling out Carp as my target fish.

These day's when I get a bite I still get the same buzz from my quarry as I did all those years ago regardless of size and long may this continue.

UKMA: How did you start in the angling trade?

PM: I started in the tackle trade working in Specialist Tackle under Pete Henwood, who gave me a great insight into the trade. I also worked as a manager for Muddy Waters which also taught me a great deal about management.

UKMA: What made you decide to start your own business within the angling industry?

PM: I started my own business as I was already making bits of tackle for my own use, these became very popular with friends and other angler's and it went from there.

UKMA: How long has the company been running?

PM: The Stealth Tackle company has been up and running for three year's.

UKMA: How do you see the future with regards to company expansion over the forthcoming years?

PM: With regards to expansion, our plans are to go slowly and surely due to the economic climate at present, we have brought out new product's each year and will continue to do so and expand our business to suit our retailers future demands.
