UKMA: Can you explain briefly how you got into angling?

Steve Fantauzzi (SF): Well I got into angling at the age of 5 when my mum took me on the river, touch leagering with bread for the chub.

UKMA: How did you start in the angling trade?

SF: I first started in the trade working at Yateley Angling Centre at the age of 15 as a saturday boy and soon was working there full time and stayed working there for some 16 years before going full time at Thinking Anglers.

UKMA: What made you decide to start your own business within the angling industry?

SF: Working in the shop, I was coming up with different ideas for tackle, designing a small range just for YAC and also gave some ideas to other manufactuers. After meeting Ben Hamilton (pictured right), who is my partner in Thinking Anglers, he too had lots of ideas and was giving them away for nothing in return so we spoke about some ideas we had and thought about producing under a name. That's when Thinking Anglers started.

UKMA: How long has the company been running?

SF: The company has been running for 4 years now

UKMA: How do you see the future with regards to company expansion over the forthcoming years?

SF: The company is going from strength to stregth. The team around us, is getting stronger and we have learnt a lot along the way. Wehave bags of ideas we still have not touched on, so all in all the future for the company is very bright.
