The 2012 Viper Cup will run from the Sunday 1st April 2012 and finish on Sunday 30th September 2012. During the competition period all catches are to be recorded by the angler on the catch report card (available in tackle shop) and photographic evidence taken (On bigger fish). At the end of the competition period, the biggest fish that has been landed from either the Sailing Lake or Boys Pit will win the Celtic Viper Cup trophy and the 1st prize of an Viper X-Range Baitboat.

 

Entry Fee

A one off entry fee of £12.50 will be required and entry form (available in tackle shop) completed, the angler will also receive his first 24 hour session for £12.50 (No concessions on day ticket). The normal 24 hour ticket price will then be paid by the angler for any further sessions thereafter.

The Rules

The captor MUST have all big fish entries verified by at least one independent witness and Photographic evidence provided; no entries will be accepted without the signature of the witness on the catch report form or no photograph. In the event of no witnesses being present a member of the fishery staff can be contacted on the numbers on the form, they will then come and photograph/witness fish.

  • All fish must be caught fair and square; all fishery rules must be adhered to.
  • Any angler caught breaking the rules will be disqualified.
  • The competition will run from the dates stated, no fish will count outside of these dates.
  • Only anglers who have entered the competition by paying the registration fee will be eligible for the first prize.
  • All legal methods of catching Carp count. We don't discriminate if anglers don't want to fish 'traditional' Carp tactics.

Lake 5

Still the place to head for if winter Carp runs are what you are after with most anglers landing upwards of 10 Carp on short 8 hour day sessions. Daniel Hughes of Lampeter landed 14 Carp to just under 20lb, Daniel used snowman rigs in conjunction with small PVA bags of pellet to take his excellent winter catch. Tony Hartshorne of Shrewsbury fished homemade fluoro pop-ups in conjunction with small heavily flavoured dynamite sticks to take 6 Carp between 9lb and 18lb 5oz. Martin Allcock of Stoke also used small pop ups this time in the shape of dynamite baits pineapple, Martin landed 5 fish between 10lb and a new personal best 16lb 10oz.
