Fenland Fisheries Report For Easter

High pressure over the last couple of weeks has slowed catches down a little on most of the lakes & with temperatures on the up it may not be too long before the fish are engaging in their spring ritual. I kid you not, I have just returned from one of our growing on lakes & the fish there are seriously at it & its only the 22nd of  April.

So on to the catch report & on willow lake Mitch Palmer fished peg 17 for a 3 day stint & banked fish of 25lb 8oz plus two at 18lb. Clive Butler struggled a little over a 4 day session taking just two fish of  25lb8oz & 16lb. Adam Palmer, fishing the opposite side of the lake to Mitch & Clive, fared slightly better banking 12 fish from peg 3, including fish of 40lb 3oz, 34lb 12oz plus 10 others mostly upper doubles. Adam took the majority of his fish on snowman rigs with cell & pineapple pop ups to top off. Kieran Murphy also had a bit of a result from peg 1 banking a brace of thirties at 34lb 11oz & 31lb 12oz plus two low twenties & a 19lb common.
First time visitors Wayne Dickinson & Graham Brook came down from Yorkshire & fished 4 nights, Wayne bagged a couple of thirties of 36lb 12oz & 30lb (common) plus 3 low twenties whilst Graham got in on the action with fish of 25lb, 23lb, 18lb & 16lb. Two of Graham's fish fell to zigs & the other 2 were taken on cell bottom baits. Stu Lennox & a couple of his Army pals Duncan & Baggsy fished for 4 nights in sunny calm "Kiss of death" conditions & worked hard for there fish . Stu took to stalking during the day up in the corner between peg 7 & peg 8 using maggots to tempt his quary. Finishing the session with 9 fish one at 39lb three over 20lb, plus 5 doubles, I would say that was top angling fella. Duncan bagged a rarely caught Grass Carp at 24lb & a 22lb mirror & Baggsy got in on the stalking action with 3 doubles on maggots again.

On Vermuyden its business as usual with stacks of fish being taken. Lawrence & Charlie Searle done a 48 hour seesion banking 14 fish (7 each) all into double figures with the best fish at 18lb,Red Berry boilie taking all the fish. Andy & Joel fished on a day ticket midweek & banked 4 fish each to 17lb , C,C,B baits doing the damage again. Andy Brown & his son fished a couple of nights taking 10 fish in total between 9lb & 18lb . John Whitworth banked a low twenty on a day ticket. Lewis Blyth took 4 fish between 9lb & 15lb. Hayden Brunning had a hit ,banking 10 fish in a 48 hour session, with his biggest going 16lb. Last but not least Ben Cutter done  a 24 hour session taking 7 fish to just under 20lb. Ben also bagged this months best catch competition as he took all his fish on C.C.B Red Berry boilies. Well done fella a whole load of C.C.B bait is on its way.

Paul Fitzjohn banked a nice 24lb 10oz mirror from Abbey Lake but nothing else to report here although fish have been caught but not reported to me.

Just a couple of fish at Pingles this time our old friend Dan (THE MAN) Gould banked fish of 23lb 10oz & a new fish not been caught for several years at 28lb 12oz (common).
