Innovation and quality of product are words that go hand in hand with the Ringers bait range. So when the word came through to the UKMA office about the imminent release of the Northamptonshire based companies new soft hook pellets, we were definitely looking forward to see what they had come up with and we weren’t to be disappointed. They have looked at the angler’s requirements when on the bank and took into consideration the current financial situation to release a very clever twin pot that offers two individual hookbait options, let me explain.

The Ringers Next Generation Soft Hook Pellets are in a totally original style of tub that has basically got two lids. By lifting the main or larger lid, this reveals the large or main compartment of the pot that stores the 6mm soft hook pellets. Now this is where things become clever, the lid has a smaller pot attached underneath and by removing the smaller lid that carries the branded label you can then access the 4mm soft hook pellets. How simple is that two hook bait options in one tub that can be kept fresh and totally separate at all times, very clever.

Unlike previous soft hook bait offerings from the Ringers brand, the Next Generation Soft Hookers are of a slightly firmer consistency, yet still soft enough to please even the fussiest of match anglers. When we field tested this latest offering from the very popular Ringers bait range we found that if we hooked either size across the fibre grain of the pellet (side to side) or down the fibre grain of the pellet (top to bottom) we got exactly the same results, both the 4mm and 6mm Next Generation soft hook pellets could be hooked perfectly with no splitting.

First Impressions

The Next Generation Soft Hook Pellets have the same distinctive aroma as the original soft hook pellets that Ringer Baits had on the market about 5 years ago but now they have a far superior durability and consistency. The team at UKMA have had a real good play around with the all new for 2011 Ringers Next Generation soft hook pellets 6 & 4mm and can’t find any fault in them on first impressions but as per usual we will be back with a test of time report to follow over the coming weeks.
