![]() Using The New Bag'em Groundbaits with Lee Taylor
Part One - Super Skimmer
Lee, from Warwickshire began fishing aged 7 years old on the canals around the Warwickshire area, before winning junior matches and competing with adults in the club circuit. Lee started fishing waters including Barston in Solihull and Spring Pools, winning the Intersite individual at Barston in 2006 and coming 4th in the final of the Stafford Moor Mania in 2007. Lee loves fishing waters with Skimmers and Carp in and his favourite methods are method feeder, and fishing paste on the pole. For silvers he likes to fish caster shallow.
What Lee Thinks Of The Super Skimmer Mix.
New for 2010, some fantastic new groundbaits have been produced by the Bag'em team. As it says on the packet though, this is not just a mix for skimmers and bream, this is a superb bait for all types of silvers, and will produce some very nice sport through the winter months! One of the nice thing about the Bag'em products, is the packaging . Each Bag'em bag of ground bait comes in a resealable bag so if you do not want to use the whole bag you can save it for another session. the bags themselves are also very strong and are unlikely to split open in your caryall!! To mix the groundbait you will need to get yourself a large round bowl. A round bowl is the preferred choice for most anglers, as it enables you to mix your groundbait consistantly with out getting groundbait stuck in the corners if you were using a square tub. Open the bag of Super Skimmer mix up , and you will instantly smell the sweet vanilla essence that ouzes out of the bag , and you will immdediatly notice the consistancey of the groundbait and the quality!! I can promise you that every bag is exactly the same, and we pride ourselves on the quality of Bag'Em baits!! Once you have got your required amount for the session, reseal the bag for another day.

When adding water to your dry mix , its best to edge on the cautious side, and add the water a little at a time whilst mixing avoiding any big lumps. By adding it little and often this helps to make a smoother mix , and will give you a better finished product. Around the winter month though I prefer to add a litlle more water , for a firmer mix , which gives a slower breakdown rate. for a faster breakdown, add a little less water. Once your mix is complete and your happy with the amount of water added , leave your mix to one side, and carry on setiing your kit up. about 10 mins before your session is going to start , riddle off your mix through either a maggot or pinkie riddle, to finish with a nice fine mix of Bag'em super skimmer dark groundbait. You can then if you wish add some freebies to your mix for feeding, which I normally add a handfull of red squatt, some pinkie and some caster.
The one problem I find with this mix, is it smells so good, you would want to eat it!

After that I will place a wet towel over the top to keep my mix fresh, and stop it from drying out!!
