Lewis Murawski Wins White Acres MILO Festival *EXCLUSIVE*

Recently we heard news that a good friend of UKMA, former England Youth International Lewis Murawski, won the MILO festival held each year at WhiteAcres Holiday Park. 180 anglers, including some of the best match anglers in the country, fished the festival, and competition was very high with several anglers holding the top spot on the the leaderboard over the week, so coming out on top at the end of the week is a superb achievement that we think deserves more coverage than what was received from the angling press.

UKMA asked Lewis for a breakdown of how he fished the MILO Festival, and he sent across the below to UKMA to share.

Lewis finished the festival with a perfect 36 point score dropping just 7 points (3rd in section).

How Lewis Approached The MILO Festival.

Day One - Twin Oaks 16. Flier of a peg, fished the method feeder and pellet waggler, catching late on down the edge with meat for 110lb odd (all weights are on whiteacres website). Won the lake overall, and a vital 9 points for a section win.

Day Two - A bad draw - 46 on Trewaters, but kept my head up. Decided to fish the method feeder virtually all day, knowing that if those on better pegs came off it, I'd catch their fish and so it proved. 25lb odd and managed to win the bottom lake and my section.

Day Three - Porth. I've always done well on Porth so I fancied it wherever I drew - won the section fishing up in the water on the pole and waggler for 12lb odd, which was 3lb odd more than the next person in the section.

Day Four - Bolingey peg 9 - I wanted a good peg here more than anything, as I could virtually win the festival with a win today. Peg 9 is renowned as one of the worst pegs on the lake - great! I managed to make the best of a bad situation by fishing a method feeder tight into the margins for 14 carp and 85lb odd - another few lb and I would have won the section, but I was chuffed from here, and looking back, it was this result that won me the festival.

Day Five - Polawyn peg 16. A great draw to end the week on, 16 won the lake the day previous with 100lb odd of carp. This was going to be easy, or so I thought. Three hours in and I had one carp, they were catching 4 pegs to my right (in the next section) so the shoal had obviously moved. I continued piling in the meat at 5 metres as I knew I had to finish strong. I ended with 58lb of skimmers and bream on this line, which was 20lb more than anyone else. I was really pleased as things weren't going well to begin with, and I even got another top kit with a lighter rig and elastic on 2 hours from the end to maximise the pegs potential.

HUGE THANKS TO: My lodge sharing mates, Kieron Rich and Ian Didcote, who counselled me each day and gave me words of advice and inspiration. Without these two great anglers helping out I'm sure I would not be able to do as well as I did.

Lewis would also like to give huge thanks to his sponsors, Dynamite Baits and Fox Match, as without their support he would not have finished as well as he did.
