The Angling Trust &

British Waterways to run

the Stillwater Championship

UKMA have received information from the Angling Trust and British Waterways with news of the two parties now working together to run the Stillwater Championship from 2011 onwards. The events format will remain pretty much the same except there will now be 6 qualifying rounds. The qualifiers will run from mid May until the end of July with the grand final being held in September. The winner will be crowned Angling Trust/British Waterways Champion. The prize fund should reach £6000 but this is subject to all qualifying rounds being sold out.

As per usual, pegs will be allocated on a first come first served basis, with no exceptions. However, there is one noticeable change from previous years that is anglers wishing to enter this event now have to be a member of the Angling Trust. If you are not already a member you can get a membership on-line by visiting www.anglingtrust.net or by calling the membership department on 0844 7700616 (option 1). Please note that your individual membership must be valid on the day of competition to validate your participation in any of the qualifying rounds or the final.

UKMA have been approached by Sandra Drew, the competition and events manager from the Angling Trust, and we are delighted to be continuing our support of the Stillwater Championships in 2011. As in previous years, we will continue to keep you up top date with all the news information and results as the series unfolds over the coming months. So watch this space for all the info on what is becoming one of the biggest angling events on the match angling calendar in the United Kingdom.
