Ringer On Fire In The Cold

There seems to be no stopping Steve Ringer at the minute and Sunday, he followed on from where he left off last week with yet another victory, this time in the 29-peg open match at Tunnel Barn Farm.

The Northampton-based commercial ace drew peg-23 on Extension Pool and relied on three lines between 11m and 13m, all fed with pinkies and maggots covered in a dusting of Silver X Canal & Lake Original to put a sweet flavour in the water, rather than a fishmeal scent.

Steve started very slowly with just four fish in the first couple of hours but eventually a few fish started to feed and by alternating between his three lines, taking just a couple of fish from each before moving on, he eventually ended the day with 28 F1 Carp and a lone 1lb skimmer to weigh 53lb 4oz and take victory.

He was also fortunate enough to be drawn on the bonus peg and ended up with an extra £150, in addition to his winnings, to show for his efforts.
