Tubertini Bag’em Baits Quartet Make it a Double

After what can only be described as a horrendous winter, that has made attempting to go fishing over the past three of months an impossibility for most of us. Ten teams of die hards have brave the elements to fish the Alders Farm Teams of Four Winters League 2010/11 to its close conclusion. With Tubertini Bagem and GOT Baits level on points and only weight count back separating them, the penultimate round was going to be a very tense affair indeed.

The all important draw took place and Tubertini /Bag’em Baits drew well putting all the pressure on the GOT Baits team but the job in hand was too big a task for the Alder Farm regulars. On the Day Team Tubertini/Bag’em Baits battled to their second consecutive winter league victory with sections wins for Barry Mason, Matt Grant, Mick McMillan and a 4th in section for team Captain Steve Potter, which on the day was enough to give them the title by a clear margin of 14 points.

To add yet another accolade to this very impressive, all round team performance, the leagues top point scorer was Wellingborough based rod Matt Grant. He amassed an incredible 49 out of a possible 50 section points, which is an incredible personal achievement, especially when you take into consideration the conditions that Matt and all the anglers taking part had to contend with.
