Bagem Matchbaits Individual Silver League

The week had seen some very cold snaps down to -5 deg C and ice was still on the lake as 31 anglers sat down to Round 2 of the Bagem Matchbaits Silver Individual League at Dog Lane on Sunday.

Many found the going tough as the water had dropped colour and the bottom could be seen out to 6m, so fishing a short line was not an option. Most anglers on the day opted to sit it out for a big billy Perch or an Orfe. A few fished for anything that would bite and those that did managed to winkle out a few Roach and Gudgeon.

The winner came from peg 19 where Keith 'Crusty' Taylor punched his  way to a 4lb 8oz  bag of Roach, pipping Roger Atkins across on Peg28  by 4½oz. Roger's catch consisted of two, pound plus Orfe and a tidy  bag of small roach for 4lb3½oz. Third place went to Simon Potter on peg 20 who also went on the punch and netted 4lb 1oz of netter roach.

The weeks best perch was caught by Justin Ashby from Banbury on peg 17  and weighed in 3lb 4oz and secured him a section win too.



The next League Match will be in the New Year on Sunday 8th January 2012.
