Avid Carp Corn Stops

I love these! End of review! Not really; I do think they are fantastic though and having used them quite a bit recently, I’m convinced they are a great idea.

Normal hair ‘stops’ can often be fiddly to use when anchoring baits securely to any rig, especially during cold winter sessions when falling temperatures can make finger dexterity difficult; Avid Carp have developed a superbly simple idea which makes keeping bait on the hair a much easier evolution.

Basically, the ‘Corn Stop’ consists of a piece of imitation sweetcorn with a small plastic hook protruding from the back; the hook is passed into the hair loop after the bait has been mounted and then the bait is gently pulled back against it to secure it. The plastic hook sits within the bait and the imitation corn sits snugly on top for perfect presentation. Many anglers like to use fake baits or add a splash of colour to their hair rig; the Corn Stop does both!

Corn Stops are available in a variety of colours and with long or short hooks so hair rigs do not have to be changed to accommodate baits of different sizes and come supplied in packs of 15 for around £2.49.
