Garbolino Coach Max 6 Tube Rod Holdall

When looking for a rod holdall, there are three main criterias that the holdall should meet. Firstly is should be well manufactured using good quality materials and fixings, offering good strength, durability and functionality.
Secondly it must have ample storage space for the rods and equipment you require it to house and carry to and from the bank.
Last, but not least, it must be good value for money.

About six months ago I started to hear very good reports from both retailers and anglers alike, about the new Garbolino Coach Max luggage range. In the range are two rod holdalls. You have a four rod holdall that is ideal for the short session pole angler who likes to travel light and doesn’t need to carry huge amounts of spare sections and top kits with him, every time he goes out.

The Six 6 rod version offers that extra space for the angler who likes to carry the kitchen sink to the bank, with plenty of space for poles, top kits and spare sections. With the majority of match anglers now carry rods in specially designed holdalls which allows them to carry rods pre-prepared and assembled, this makes a six tube holdall more than adequate for carrying your pole and extras comfortably.

The Coach Max 6 tube holdall is manufactured from 600 denier nylon that is both waterproof and very easy to clean. The main compartment is accessible by the use of the full length, two way zip, with practical branded pullers, and will comfortably house poles and sections up to 1.8m in length.

When the zip is fully open, Coach Max Rod Holdall lays flat allowing easy access to all your tackle inside.

The Coach Max 6 has two ample exterior pockets to store those must have accessories. The first and largest is1.46m in length and is ideal for landing net handles, feeder arms and umbrella’s. The second pocket is specifically designed for bank stick and is 0.92m in length. Both pockets are fitted with side zips for easy access and quick release buckle access on the protective, branded pocket covers.

Carrying the Coach Max 6 to and from the bank has been made incredibly easy by the addition of the fully padded adjustable shoulder strap. When this is adjusted correctly, it makes carrying a fully loaded holdall a comfortable event. If you’re awkward like me and don’t like a rod holdall strap over your shoulder, then the twin padded carrying handles that Velcro together for comfort will be your saving grace.

Final Thoughts

The Coach Max 6 Tube Rod Holdall not only looks the part with its stylish royal blue material and black trim looks slick but it also performs well above its price tag. I have been using this one for nearly 5 months now and I can’t find a stitch out of place. All the zips, buckles and straps are performing perfectly and continue to do the jobs they were designed to do amicably.

For the money, you will struggle to match the overall quality of this simple, but functional, rod holdall. For only £28.99 you get a piece of luggage that does its job without shouting about it. With every penny counting these days, I’d recommend you put the Garbolino Coach Max 6 tube holdall on your "want" list if you’re in the market for a new rod holdall this year, a cracking rod holdall for the money!!
