Greys Prodigy Coarse Rig Accessories

Part Two

Recently Lee Taylor wrote about some of the new products coming out from the Greys Prodigy range, offered to the general coarse match angler of our times. Lee has now provided UKMA with an Introduction to the new Prodigy coarse rig accessories, where you will see how Greys have designed some very forward thinking  products to assist all grades of angler on the bank today.

In Part Two of the new Greys Prodigy range, I would like to introduce some of the Rig Components. In this part it will show how the new Greys Prodigy range of Top and Tail rubbers, swivels and quick change swivels will help make your fishing easier and more user friendly. These are simple and effective ideas made out of the best materials available to the modern day angler!

When fishing methods such as the feeder or bomb , you need to make your set up as simple as possible so you are not interupted through your session by tangles etc. Greys have now introduced to their new range of Prodigy terminal tackle to help the angler achieve this.

Greys Prodigy Top and Tail Rubbers

These are a very simple and effective method , where you have two sections of rubber which will encase the choice of Prodigy swivel you wish to use. They also protect your main line and hook length which connects to the swivel, and with the line hanging free, it keeps evrything neat and tidy with less chance of tangles.

The Top and Tail rubber, works in a simple way where you thread the longer section onto your main line, then tie on your chosen Prodigy swivel, and then thread the smaller section onto your hooklength before connecting the hook length to your swivel.
You then slide the smaller section up to the swivel and with a slight push and twist, it will lock into the other part of the tail rubber creating a small bullet shape.

The Top and Tail Rubbers are sold seperate or with a selection of swivels in size 6 or 8 , and even the Quick Change Swivel. The Size 6 and 8 swivels are a standard figure of 8 with the barrel in the middle which allows the swivel to rotate which gives less chance of line spin when retrieving your rig.

My personal favourite of the swivels is the Quick Change swivel, which is a standard swivel at one end, where your main line would connect to, and the other end of the Quick Change swivel is an elongated hook which almost doubles back on itself. This is used for changing hook lengths with ease. For example , if you want to change from a longer hooklength to a short one, theres no messing with trying to undo small knots or having to cut and waste a perfectly good hooklength, you just slip it off the quick change swivel  and replace with your new hooklength and then push the tail rubber on so its all encased.
