X-Press Method Moulds

The method feeder has evolved over the past two decades form its humble beginnings when crude inline plastic feeders with a lead weight attached at the base were packed with fishmeal based groundbaits and particles that formed a solid ball that could take anything up to 10 minutes to break down. This was accompanied by hair rigged hook bait that was left hanging below your ball of feed, then this was then cast out and pretty much left until your rod tip went round or the alarm sounded, how things have changed. The modern generation of match and specialist anglers have taken the approach to a whole new level and made this “chuck and hope” tactic as it was known to many, a far more sophisticated and productive method.

Over the years, anglers have learned that in order to get the very best and most consistent performance from your method feeders you have to form a perfectly shaped ball of bait around the feeder every time. By creating a ball of feed that is identical every time, this enables the angler to cast with a precise accuracy over greater distances that had not been achievable before. To form these perfect bait balls every time, some of the countries leading anglers have over the past few years designed what is now commonly known as the “Speed Moulds”. These rubberise moulds are designed to form the perfect method ball every time and if used correctly, can make a devastating difference to your method feeder fishing.

The latest “Speed Mould” to hit the market is the X-Press Method Moulds from Essex based GURU. These clever devices have been designed to work perfectly in conjunction with their X-Safe or Inline feeders, making moulding pellets or groundbait around our method feed a very simple task. The X-Press Method Moulds have a non-stick inner that is coupled with a flexible construction. This combination helps even a numpty like me can produce perfectly formed feeders loaded with groundbait or pellets every time. The X-Press Method Moulds are available in a small and large option and although designed for use with the GURU range of method Feeders they are also compatible with several other brands of method feeders.
