Nisa Feeders Shock Leads

Nisa Feeders are known for developing effective solutions to situations that anglers may experience. There are times where fish don't want to eat anything other than single items such as hookbaits, but the angler wants to have effective hooking arrangement like what the "Method" gives. The trouble with this type of arrangement is that a short hooklink can be broken easily on a bite if there is no shock absorber involved. With straight lead arrangents the angler has aways had to go for either longer hooklinks or use thicker non-prestretched lines to stop breakages on the fish bolting away. With this in mind, Nick Larkin has put on his thinking cap and come up with a straight lead system that allows for a shock absorber to be included inline to eliminate breakages with prestretched lines.

The Shock Leads are essentially an inline lead setup which slides over a stretchy gum like link. The shock link is two small swivels that have been moulded into each end of the link which stretches to around double its length to give the required shock absorbancy when using fine lines and small hooks.

To set up the Shock Leads is a simple task of threading the lead onto the mainline before tying one end to the stretchy link. The link is then pulled inside the tube of the lead. This semi-fixes the link which gives a bolt effect to a biting fish as well as a buffer to light breaking strain hooklengths and small hooks. The shock links also help with keeping barbless hooks in place as it pulls back against the fighting fish. If you wanted to neaten everything up completely, then you can place a tail rubber over the end of the plastic tube that the lead sits on.

The shape of the Shock Leads allows perfectly to be used with PVA bags, as the lead and rig can be placed inside the bag and the opening of the PVA bag can be either "lick & stick'd" or tied with PVA tape or string around the plastic stem.

The Shock Leads are available in 44g and 60g weights and spare Shock Links an be purchased separately.

Final Thoughts

The Shock Leads offer the match and specialist angler a solution to situations they may find themselves in. On flowing water when fishing for species such as Barbel or Chub where takes can be savage, the stretchy nature of the Shock Links gives that additional buffer to lower the chance of a breakage, where as the match angler will find these perfect for long range work with short hooklinks to eliminate tangles as well as lighter breaking strain lines and smaller hooks.

The Nisa Feeders Shock Leads have a RRP of £4.99 per pack of two which includes two Shock Links. Spare Shock Links can be purchased at £2.55 for a packet of 3.
