Solar Tackle have quite an impeccable reputation that has been earned through years that has been based around one basic rule, they only releasing new product that have been truly tested and that are 100% capable of performing the given task they have been designed to do perfectly. With that in mind UKMA received a selection of goodies from the Kent based company and instantly noticed the new for 2011 Serrated Braid Scissors.

These razor sharp scissors have been designed with a special cutting angle that enables a clinically clean cut to be achieved even when cutting through the finest Dyneema based braids. This ultra sharp performance has been achieved by using the finest grade stainless steel to create these 'laser etched' serrated blades that meet perfectly to create a surgically clean cutting tool. The other noticeable and well thought out feature of the Serrated Braid Scissors are the larger than normal finger holes that even my chunky digits found incredibly comfortable to hold and use.

NOTE – UKMA highly recommend that to get the very best life and long term performance out of the Solar Tackle Serrated or any other type of braid scissors, only use them for cutting braided lines, use another cheaper alternative for mono’s and leader materials.

My personal favourite feature is the enlarged finger grips or handles on the scissors. They make it possible for anyone with big hands or thick fingers to easily use them comfortably. The only down point of this is that they may not fit inside your tackle box but this is a small price to pay for quality. To prevent any damage when in transit Solar also provide a Neoprene safety sheath that like the handles has been purposely coloured flouro yellow to make them very easy to find when dropped in long or dense grass even in the dark and even more difficult to loose. (Unlike other black handled braid cutters on the market that cost twice as much).

Final Thoughts

The team at UKMA have had a couple of pairs of these out on the bank and well and truly tested the claims that they will cut all braids, any rig or reel lines, leader materials and leadcore currently used in modern carp fishing.
