Thinking Anglers iPhone Pouch

I don't know about other anglers, but something that is always running through my mind is how to keep my phone safe when on the bank. On every match, you see anglers with £500 smartphones just sat on their side trays open to the elements and covered in bait, specialist anglers are in & out of the water without thinking along with leaving them on a bivvy table when in their bivvy where damp can get into the phone during a night time session, and the worst thing is that a lot of anglers refuse to take out mobile phone insurance as they think that nothing will happen to their phone!

Thos clever chaps at Thinking Anglers have had their thinking caps on again and developed a pouch that protects the iPhone or similar sized handset against the elements, but still allows it to be used as if it wasn't in a pouch!

The pouch itself has been manufactured from a hard wearing dark olive green nylon material that is water resistant, with a transparent thick polythene panel to allow you to see the screen. I have always been concerned about the effects of screen protectors and covers on touch capacitive screens, but during the tests, all finger gestures and sweeps where picked up perfectly through the panel.

The iPhone fits snugly into the pouch and is retained by a velcro over flap at the top. On the reverse of the pouch, there is a velcro close pocket which is handy for storing permits or a little cash in whilst fishing, and accompanying the pocket is a handy belt loop for those that are always on the move. Above the pocket and belt look, a metal D ring has been fitted and a toggled lanyard included so you can wear the pouch around your neck or secure it to a loop on an item of clothing so if it does fall out of your pocket, it will not fall any further than the length of the lanyard.

Although the iPhone Pouch has been designed to house any incarnation of the iPhone or iPod Touch range, it will also accept a wider range of similar sized smartphones.

All in all, this product is one that I have been waiting for, for what seems like an eternity as I have not been happy with other protective items on the market. I would have liked to see a small opening in the base of the pouch with a flap or velcro closure that would allow me to charge my iPhone using a portable power pack when doing long sessions, but it is no hassle to take the phone out and put it in upside down to do this. Other than that, it is perfect!

If you are an iPhone owner or have a smartphone of similar size, you will not regret getting one of these pouch's. I am using mine outside of my angling as well for protection! The Thinking Anglers iPhone pouch has a RRP of £14.99 and for your money you are getting better protection for your expensive phone, than anything else I have seen on the mobile phone market!
