I have been part of the angling world now for nearly 30 yrs...... Christ that makes me old!! LOL ..... I still have the same buzz now about going fishing as to when I was a kid going up on the Fosse canal with my Dad. I grew up on canals and Rivers around the Warwickshire area , fishing clubs and opens. In the late 80's the commercials came to us with Billy Makin’s being one of the first and this is the area of fishing I enjoyed the most.

I went through the years fishing at Club and open level , picking up some Brown envelopes along the way , and when I turned 27 , started to take a more serious approach to my angling , and concentrating on 2 or 3 waters to learn as much as possible. Commercials were now the way forward with today’s angling , and I soon started to put together some consistent match weights and frame placings  Fishing Matches such as the Makin’s teams of 3 and Makin’s Teams of 12 Winter league , fishing for the Gedling Draw bags  was where  I had some of my best winter fishing.

I am also heavily involved with The angling Internet world  getting through to the final of the angling Times Supercup , and taking the Midland Intersite Championship in 2007 , and also coming 3rd and 4th in other years. I also claimed 1st prize of the Total-fishing.com world series matches at the glebe with 153lb of carp. My most enjoyable match was at Stafford Moore  where I fished the Stafford more version of fisho mania , where I qualified through to the final with a section and lake win of 88lb of skimmers caught on the pole. I the final I managed 4th over all on the day with 87lb of carp caught on the pellet waggler.  I did have a venture onto the canal scene in 2010 , and fished the division 2 national where I won my section of 55 anglers , which was quite an achievement!!

I have managed to gain Sponsorship with Hardy Greys Coarse academy which I have been with now for nearly 4 yrs and Bagem Match baits as an angling consultant . Hardy and Bagem have both given me great support and helped me to move even further into this superb sport. I am a regular face across the Internet sites writing features and reviews on there products  and always on hand to offer ...hopefully sound advice!!

In 2010 , I took on the challenge of running the Barston masters 2011 , which ended up being a huge event and one of the most talked about matches in the country with people travelling far and wide to take part and compete in my matches at Barston lakes in Solihull.

My love is for the commercial match scene , but over the years its now not all about carp , and on most occasion now , Skimmers also play a big part in most match weights. This is why I like Barston and Stafford Moore so much. I can adapt to most styles , but my two favourite methods for skimmers and carp is paste on the pole , and the method feeder at range. Barston suits my style of fishing and this is where I will be spending most of my fishing time in the Barston masters 2012.

I have had countless weight of 100lb or more with my Biggest being 169lb. My best silvers weight was 44lb of roach on the caster shallow at spring pools .

My Main target now is to just keep enjoying my Fishing , and hopefully helping some other like-minded anglers out along the way!!
