Fox Rage launches in the UK

Catfish-Pro Maruto Eagle Wave Hooks

When it comes to fish like the Wels catfish, the angler needs hooks and end tackle that is not going to let them down. The use of specialist hooks is one factor that the novice to the side of the sport neglects thinking that a large carp hook will suffice. For smaller fish, this may be true, but when you end up hooking a fish in excess of 60lb that runs off like an express train, you need something more substantial.

Catfish-Pro sent UKMA some of their Maruto Eagle Wave Hooks to try out.

Catfish-Pro Livebait Polyball Rigs

With temperatures, pressure and humidity all high, this is that time of year when the big Catfish are up in the water and on the feed. Presenting baits in the mid or upper layers for these huge creatures doesn’t take that much finesse but you do need a rig that is incredibly strong.

Catfish-Pro sent UKMA some of their pre-tied polyball rigs to try out.

Garbolino SuperCaster Carbon Reel

Entering an already saturated and difficult market with a new product takes some doing, but Garbolino have done so and are creating a bit of a storm in the lure fishing world with their range of SuperCaster reels.

Darren Cox recently sent UKMA on of the SuperCaster Carbon reels to put through its paces, and you can read our thoughts and findings HERE.

The Kelly Kettle

As anglers, we all love a fresh cup of tea or coffee when we are fishing - especially in the winter, but we all know that some stoves have problems working in low temperatures.

The Kelly Kettle has been designed to work in all temperatures and conditions, and UKMA have been putting the Kelly Kettle through its paces in all weathers.

Jack Pyke of England "Poacher" Knife

All anglers will require the use of a decent knife at one point or other in their angling lives, but a lot of the time the anglers put up with tools that are sub-standard to say the least.

When UKMA recently visited the Jack Pyke HQ, we came away with several products to review, and the first is the "Poacher" hunting knife.

Did the "Poacher" come up to our expectations? Click HERE to read our findings.

ET Predator Products Pike Oils

With the warmer weather kicking in now, and with this, the use of oils in baits offers far greater attraction through the water column than they do in the winter.

Andy Lush from ET Predator sent UKMA a selection of their predator oils for us to take a look at.
