Vision Baits
Ecto-Plasm Day & Night
Trying to find something totally unique in the world of baits is one of those daunting adventures we have all taken part in over the years. Finding a bait or attractant that is so different that even the most cautious of fish will not be able to resists its charms is every anglers dream but to be honest, is a goal that many of us have very rarely if ever scored. Many variations of conventional bait, there flavourings and with the huge number of presentation options now available to the modern angler you are really going to have to come up with something totally different if you are planning on setting the angling world alight.
One range of attractants that featured on our pages about a year and really caught the attention of the UKMA team was the Ecto-Plasm from Vision Baits. This unusual product is a hormone based gel that sticks to your bait and releases soluble attractors into your swim whilst creating a luminous, glowing halo that seeps around your hook bait when fully submerged. Whilst testing we not only found the Ecto-Plasm to be more than suitable for all hook baits when targeting big carp, bream and tench but it was also incredibly productive when painted onto lures or when injected into dead baits when targeting predatory species including big perch catfish and pike.

Vision Baits have released two versions of the Ecto-Plasm to cover all eventualities. First up is the Day which we have discovered performed best in all good natural light and in relatively clear water conditions. To compensate for low light conditions, deep murky water or night time presentations you have the Night version, which has illuminating qualities making it possible to charge or boosted up by placing directly into the beam of a head torch or UV torch to enhance its visual appearance. Once charged or boosted, the Ecto-Plasm Nights glow will lasts for up to 4hrs in water. This light or energy retaining characteristic makes this fish attractant the first liquid attractants of its kind.
TOP TIP for Specimen anglers – When targeting bream, barbel, carp and temch on lakes and rivers, pre-glug your hook baits well in advance for best results. By pre-glugging boillies, pellets and maize in Ecto-Plasm this will vastly improve the performance of your hook bait once in the water, over a longer period of time.
TOP TIP for Predator anglers – Before freezing dead baits try injecting around 20ml of either sardine or mackerel Ecto-Plasm into the fish and freezing until you are ready to use them. As they defrost this releases an attractive fish aroma and cloud around your dead bait, attracting predation attention.
