Big Zed Falls To Sea Bait

Some anglers would probably not even consider going zander fishing unless they had fresh coarse baits at their disposal; but Newmarket based, Chris Hammond, is not one of them anglers!

Armed with two packs of Dynamite Baits Herring Deadbaits, Chris made the long walk down a remote section of drain, to an area he fancied for the species.

“Within 15 minutes of arriving I was into my first fish of the evening; a small zed of just over 6lb. The same rod was recast, and before I knew it, the float was sliding away once again” explained Chris.

“On striking, I knew straight away that the fish I was now connected to was in a different league, and when it hit the surface under the torch light, I was proved correct!” he added.

Chris weighed his zander in at a new personal best weight of 11lb 2oz; a fine zander in anyone’s book!
