Grub’s™ Boots
For those of you who haven’t heard the name Garlands before, here’s a brief introduction. Garlands was founded in 1980 by father and son Robert and Ian Garland who were then joined by James Garland in 1984 with the business then consisting of a small shop and a basic shooting ground. Over the years the business has expanded and now has over 20 staff employed within the company. Garlands also have an extensive wholesale department that supplies products to over 600 retailers within the UK and Europe.
They now supply a comprehensive and an impressive selection of products from manufacturers all over the world that are designed for the man who takes his outdoor pursuits very serious. With everything from camouflaged clothing, to footwear being catered for by this family run organisations very impressive port folio. One of these top quality brands is the Grub’s ™ Boot Range and with winter now upon us, UKMA contacted marketing manager, James Garland who has obliged with a couple of samples from the impressive Grub’s boot selection, here are our first impressions.
 The Grub’s Range Tech Spec
All Grub's® footwear uses a self-insulating INSU-FOAM ULTRA™ Boot construction which acts as a neutral medium between the wearer and the outside.
The boot is both waterproof and insulating and has been proven to exceeds the long-term effectiveness of waterproof membranes and lofted insulations, such as GORE-TEX® and 3M Thinsulate™.
The 5.0 Technology™ Boot incorporates a moisture wicking terry knit lining, which keeps you dry and makes for a comfortable fit. This 5.0 Technology make it possible to wear the in all extremes of climate from 85 to -5 Fahrenheit or 30 to -10 Centigrade.
The Hunt 5.0

This Hi-top, Wellington style boot offering takes angling footwear to another dimension. These very well made boots Incorporate the revolutionary 5.0 Boot Technology described above and designed to offer superb waterproofing and comfort even in extreme weather conditions.
They offer a 6mm insulated foot bed which greatly increases your thermal protection from cold encroachment through the bottom of the boots black rubber sole which gives the Hunt 5.0 superb grip on all surfaces.
To finish the job off you also have re-enforced toe caps which offers superb protection when walking through long grass and across rough terrain.
The Short Field 5.0

This Boot has been around for nearly 10 years on the North American angling circuit and is classed as a classic boot pattern for most angling situations.
The Herring Bone sole on the Short Field 5.0 has a low profile rubber tread that offers superb grip on flat surfaces like staging’s and pontoons, making the Short Field 5.0 a great lightweight foot wear option.
It also has all the major features of the Hunt 5.0 but offers far less movement restriction, making the Short Field Boot 5.0 ideal for those situations when you have to climb over rocks and other large obstructions, when stalking out your quarry in overgrown and hidden swims.
First Impressions
The Grub’s™ Boots Range offer the angler warmth comfort and guaranteed dry socks when you get home. Both the Hunt and Short Field style boots offer solid protection and superb grip on any type of terrain. The 5.0 Technology™ used in the manufacture of these boots makes them lightweight, yet incredibly durable.
