Nash Tackle "Peg One"Transformer Recliner & ArmchairPart One
Over the years Nash tackle have built a deserved reputation for high quality, practical and comfortable seating systems for the session angler. The qualities of build and design features that have made chairs like the Indulgence Recliner and Daddy Longlegs classics in there class. So with the hard work already done, these attributes have now found there way into the superb new specialist chair system that are the flagship product from the critically acclaimed PEG ONE range from the Essex based company. So for those of you who are looking into the benefits of using an accessory chair system for your angling, here’s the team’s first look at the Transformer Recliner and Transformer Armchair.
FeaturesBoth the Transformer Recliner and flagship Transformer Armchair are built around a wide frame designed to offer the angler comfort and support, without reducing the chairs stability or strength. The frame is home to a very well padded seat that incorporates a deep padded edge to prevent the frame digging into your legs and eliminating any potential discomfort. With both chairs incorporating an extremely comfortable a high back, extra padding has been added to create a pillow for neck and head support when lounging in a relined position. To adjust the recline of the chairs to your personal preference you have a locking hand wheel on either side of chair that makes precise angle adjustment very simple and secure.
When using any chair, 9 times out of ten you will be located on ground that is uneven, meaning a reliable and solid leg adjustment system is require. Both of the PEG ONE Transformer chairs feature as described by the manufacturer as ‘Infinitely Adjustable leg height’ which is basically a solid adjustment system on all four legs that allow precise levelling of the chairs frame even the most awkward of bank side environments. All four legs are fitted with oversized self levelling mud feet that make it possible to set up your chair even on the wettest of days. These feet measure 100mm x 100mm and are ideal when facing soaking wet peat, clay, sand or lose gravel, preventing the chair from sinking and becoming unsteady.
Although not the lightest chairs on the market at around 7kg, the Transformer chairs when folded down flat for storage and transportation, are a very low profile, compact unit that take up no room at all in the boot of a standard hatchback. Other key features that make these practical and comfortable chairs noticeable include the large square zipped pocket which is on the back of each chair and a smaller second pocket on the underside of the seat with both pockets being fully accessible when the Transformer chairs are packed flat. Both pockets serve a very useful purpose with the larger being designed for the storage and transporting of your side trays and all other small accessories fit nicely in the smaller pocket.
Transformer ArmchairAs the name states this chair has one obvious key feature over the Transformer Recliner and that is the inclusion of Ergonomic extra strong arms. Both side arms feature a moulded hand grip at the front and the actual arm has black powder coating finish and is formed from a light weight metallic material that is solid yet very comfortable. The arms are securely attached to the back and a pivoting support bar attached close to the front of the arm for stability and optimum stability.
Key FeatureBoth chairs are fitted with two Transformer accessory arms that are built into the front D-Tube cross-bar that also forms the front cross brace. These re-tractable accessory arms are fitted to both sides of the chair and can be extended outwards and locked into the perfect position to accommodate the specially designed accessories that are available. (Transformer Chair accessories review coming very soon) Nash has incorporated this cleverly designed simple one-touch cam mechanism and hex-fix system to make it possible to attach the accessories to the Transformer Chair instantly with no fuss and because of the D-tube design there is near zero movement or twist of attachments once they are fitted to the chair.
