Trespass Footwear
The days of hiking miles to your swim, across sodden fields and dodgy fences, is virtually a thing of the past. For many of today’s anglers, walking a few hundred yards to there swim requires the use of a trolley and a lot of moaning. With parking behind your peg becoming the norm, with many fisheries now manicured and landscaped to make swim access very easy. These numerous changes to our angling environment have virtually made the humble Wellington Boots a thing of the past for most anglers and more stylish mountain and hiking light-weight footwear now becoming the standard for most. One company that has already started to establish a reputation for high quality stylish footwear, designed for general outdoor pursuits is Trespass. They offer a range of outdoor footwear that will give you comfort and reliability, with a comprehensive selection of products available to cover most angler’s requirements and also fit into most peoples budgets. So UKMA contacted Trespass who has generously agreed to send over a couple of products for us to try out during the winter months and see how they performed.

TOP TIP – When wearing Suede or Suede effect shoes UKMA recommend that you use The Grangers “Peter Storm” Footwear Protector or a suited waterproofing agent to protect the material and increase the shoes performance.
First ImpressionsBoth the Gerlach and Myshkin although different in design and functionality, they both offer great comfort and protection when in the natural environment they were designed to function in. Although neither are designed for winter situations, I found both the Gerlach and Myshkin were comfortably warm. Even when I sat beside a lake in my bivvi for several hours with basic sports socks on, I never felt the cold, even when the temperatures really plummeted. On first impressions both of these products are suited to both the short a long session anglers requirements and are well worth a second look. UKMA will keep you up to date as we give them a proper testing over the coming months. For further information on any of the Trespass Footwear, please click the image below.

The Gerlach is a Suede/meshed/PU ankle style hiking boot that offers superb comfort and support when you’re on a walk about around a lake. The Gerlach’s sole design offer unlimited grip on all surfaces we walked across when testing them on including wet grass, gravel, sand, mud and stone. They are secured using a very strong metal hook and eye lace up system allows the boot to be securely fitted in a matter of seconds, which will find favour with the overnight session anglers out there. These very comfortable Boots are ideal for the session or match/coarse angler who likes a stylish boot that offers 100% waterproof protection and reliable grip on all surfaces whilst out on the bank.
The Myshkin is a Suede/Mesh shoe that is the ideal footwear selection if you want a shoe to drive the car in and use for all your general bank side approach work. The Myshkin shoe offers excellent grip as well as offering all round foot protection with a rubberised toe cap cover and padded ankle support. If light weight and comfortable footwear is what you are looking for then these could be exactly what you are looking for. Not a shoe for horrendous down pours but they are not designed for that, the Myshkin is simply a stylish footwear option for the angler who likes to look smart on arrival and during his bank side stay.
