If you are looking for a versatile, multi functional rig accessory that does the many jobs it has been designed for, then the humble line stop takes some beating. They’ve been around for many years and over this time, anglers have devised numerous ways of incorporating them into both float and feeder rigs. Over this time, these handy little stops have been greatly improved to ensure that they perform perfectly on the majority of rigs. If you use line stops in your angling then read on as the UKMA team take a look at the Drennan Grippa Stops.
The Drennan Grippa Stops are large, tapered rubber float stops which hold position on the line securely The Grippa Stop’s bulbous end makes a perfect stop for small sliding rings, or for locking loaded wagglers into position. When casting long distances with heavy bombs, wageglers and feeders, by doubling up Grippa Stops next to each other, this provide even more security when casting.
Top Tip – The direction of the stop on the main line can also be reversed by taking it off the wire onto a loop of nylon and then transferring it to the reel line.
The Drennan Grippa Stops are easy to attach to your line and hold position very well once in position. The tapered shape reduces potential drag when casting and the thick end of the Grippa Stops ensures that even larger eyed swivels and attachments are securely held in place. You get 14 Grippa Stops per pack and you should expect to pay just 99p per pack.
