CC Moore & Co Ltd Live System

Stick Mix & Pellets

First Impressions

The Live System from CC Moore has now firmly planted itself into the carp fishing history books as one of the all time great baits, but instead of just sitting back on the success of the bait, CC Moore have added a couple of new additions to the range for 2011 in the way of a dedicated Stick Mix and also dedicated Pellets.

The stick mix is made from a blend of the same potent attractors and ingredients used in exisiting Live System boilies. Blending a combination of Live System base mix, ground Live System Pellets and a proven combination of natural powders and meals, makes the Live System Stick Mix a great partner for any of the existing Live System products and works well with other similar baits available. Also included in the stick mix, CC Moore have added crushed seeds and ground particles to promote the release of stimulants into the water to keep any passing fish interested without filling them up. All of the ingredients within the Live System Stick Mix have been chosen to be highly water soluble, meaning that the attraction levels are high and effective yet little bait is left on the bottom to fill up a feeding fish, leaving your hookbait as the main target.

During the testing we have made the Stick Mix up with both plain water or with a combination of CC Moore's Live System bait dip and Feedstim XP. When mixed on the dry side with plain water the mix is a little more active and works well in the water with the PVA mesh bursting away releasing plumes of the mix rising into the water column before slowly sinking down again. When mixed with the Bait Dip/Feedstim XP combination, the mix is "deadened" sigificantly but leaks off flavour and attraction through the water with minimal disturbance. This just goes to show the versatility of the mix. If you wanted to make up a groundbait mix to wrap around the lead, then this can also be done without problems.

The new Live System pellets have been a product that I had been eagerly awaiting for a while now. With a lot of pellets being manufactured to a non-uniform structure, catapulting them any sort of distance has been a hit or miss situation, and the last thing that you want to be doing on a pressured water is spraying bait all over the swim when you wanted it on a certain spot. Obviously you have spods, bait boats, pva, etc, but sometimes you don't want to fish those methods when others have been hammering the venue already in these ways. CC Moore have really put some work in with the Live System pellets in creating a 6mm pellet that is uniform in shape and diameter, meaning that it can be catapulted furhter and more accurately, as well as being placed into PVA and compact parcels of bait can be created without worrying about the bag being unbalanced by larger pellets forming on one side.

The Live System Pellets have a breakdown time of around 2 hours, and have been developed to be as attractive to the fish in cold water conditions as they are in warmer temperatures. If the pellets are scalded with freshly boiled water, they make a superb Method bait that can be wrapped around a lead without breaking down too quickly in the water.

As soon as you open the bag that the pellets are supplied in, you can smell the sweet aroma that this bait is reknowned for instantly, and even after a couple of hours, the aroma is still in the air even with the bag resealed!

First Impressions

We have put the Live System Stick Mix and Pellets through preliminary testing, and during the sessions we have been out on the bank, weather conditions have been far from conduicive to catching fish along with the fish having conjugals on their mind over eating anything. As the weather settles down, we cannot wait to get back out on the bank again and put these baits into action fully.

Without any shadow of a doubt, CC Moore have improved the already successful Live System range with these additions and they have not just been grabbed out of thin air and thrown into production, but have been well thought out and developed to give the angler full confidence.
