Pallatrax Naturals Range

Towards the end of 2010, we were sent the Pallatrax Naturals Range of baits, but due to the inclement winter and the closed season coming almost as one, we did not get chance to put them through their paces on the rivers after the Barbel and Chub. Now June 16 has passed and the rivers have reopened again, it is time for us to finally get back onto moving water and put these baits to the test. Before we do that, it is only fair that we give a first impressions of the range.

Naturals Boilies

The Natural Boilies have been developed for the modern day specimen hunter. With boilies making an impact in every side of coarse angling nowadays, the Barbel and Chub on the rivers have taken to them in a big way as a food source and the average weights of the species are increasing yearly. With this in mind, Pallatrax have developed the Naturals range using a complete ingredient make-up of 100% natural ingredients. The two baits in the range are Multiworm Cocktail and Crustacean Cocktail. The Multiworm Cocktail is made up of natural ingredients which include earthworm, silkworm, mealworm and bloodworm, with the Crustacean Cocktail including Gammarus Shrimp, River Shrimp and Daphnia.

Available as a freezer bait only and in sizes 14mm and 18mm, the Naturals Boilies cost £5.50 for 400g or £10.95 per kilo.

Naturals Sticks

The Naturals Sticks are made from the same base mix as the boilies, but instead of being chopped and rolled into balls, the sticks have been extruded and cut into lengths, which allow the angler to choose the size of the bait that they want to use. It also gives the angler an additional edge in that fish are wising up quickly to round baits and with a non-round bait, it may give a better chance of a bite. Also if the sticks are broken up roughly and fed into faster flowing water, they will roll around less in the flow due to the non uniform shape.

Available in the same flavours as the Boilies, and supplied in 14mm or 18mm diameter sticks, the Sticks cost £5.50 for 400g or £10.95 per kilo.

Naturals Paste

Pallatrax have also had the foresight to finish off the range by making the Naturals Paste available to the angler as well. The Paste can be used in a lot of different ways including loose feeding roughly broken pieces into the flow, wrapping around a hookbait for added attraction, or even made into different shapes and boiled to create very durable hookbaits that will resist the pecking of smaller silver fish. The Paste is exactly the same as what the Boilies and Sticks are made from so compliments the other products perfectly.

Again the Paste is available in the same flavours as before and as a freezer bait only. a 250g block has an RRP of £3.50.

First Impressions

As with any of the Pallatrax products, they have been well thought out before going into production The Naturals are one bait that on paper looks to be one of those baits that will work from the off without requiring loads of pre-baiting. Our team will be out on the banks of the rivers in the coming weeks with these baits and hopefully will have some fish to show for their efforts.
