Heinz Winter Grub from a Tin

Part One

When the temperatures drop and the nights are long, a nice hot meal can make your bank-side stay just that little bit more comfortable. A convenient hot food source that is nutritionally beneficial and easy to prepare is essential. With the standard gas canisters that the majority of us use not performing to there full capabilities during the cold weather, the food that you cook must heat to ready in as little time as possible. So off to the local supermarket I went and had a look at what was on offer and suitable for the overnight angler to try out on his next session.

After a good scout round, I was pleasantly surprised at the number of meal alternative that were now available from a tin, literally hundreds of soups, pasta’s and complete meals are now available, and they can all be cooked in less than 10 minutes. I also discovered that the leading brand by a very long way is Heinz; obviously they are famous for their Baked Beans but Heinz now supply a comprehensive food in a tin selection that will most definitely have something to satisfy the biggest of appetites and individual requirements.

Over the coming weeks we will introduce you to the numerous culinary delights that Heinz now have to offer the session and over-night anglers and with no further ado,  here it is Part One of the UKMA “Heinz Winter Grub from a tin” reviews, we hope you enjoy your meal!!

Heinz Ravioli

Heinz Ravioli has been around for nearly 50 years and it tastes as good today as it ever has. Whether you’re a carnivorous creature like my self who prefer the Beef Ravioli or if you’re chosen lifestyle requires a non- meat dish then the Cheese & Tomato Ravioli will rock your boat. Both are made using authentic Italian pasta and cooked in a classic tomato sauce. A 400g tin of Ravioli, with a slice of Bread and Butter will satisfy the biggest of appetites (YES, even mine!!) and is a very quick and easy meal to prepare.

Bean Meals - Heinz Beans with Balls

I have never been a great lover of Lamb but I have to admit the new Beanz with Lamb meat balls it quite a nice combination. These tender chunks of lamb give the Beanz and tomato source an original tangy twist, which I have personally started to really enjoy. Yet again these meals really hit the spot and of three other alternatives combinations; Saucy Steak, Big Saucy Bangers or Spicy Meatballs
