Another month gone already! It’s Christmas!! 2011 seems to have raced by here at Pallatrax HQ, and 2012 promises to be even bigger and better with a host of new baits in testing, a brand new website and the ‘Pallatrax Posse’ currently undergoing selection!

Catch Reports

One of our top rods, Ryan Lippitt features in most newsletters, and for good reason! This month, a carp session saw him land a stunning winter common taken on a super short 3” hooklink with paste wrapped around his Pallatrax hookbait, then stiff method mix tightly clenched around his Stonze weight. It’s a rig which has accounted for numerous big fish for Ryan this year, although if we’re honest, whatever he does seems to work!

Ryan told Pallatrax; “I’d seen the fish roll as I set my gear up, so I was quick to get a bait out! I believe that my short, stiff rigs are almost impossible to eject so I have the utmost confidence in them. By surrounding my Stonze weight AND bait in paste and method mix, I can put maximum attraction within inches of my hookbait; what self respecting carp could resist that?”  Here at Pallatrax, we were most impressed with such a good looker.

It’s not just our baits we are proud of at Pallatrax, we have an excellent range of quality rig items which certainly do the business as proved by our next catch report....Richard Shaw got in touch to tell us that his mate had pinched a few of our hook pattern “The Hook” as Richard had been talking about them; Using a small size 14, chum Craig then proceeded to land a new pb mirror carp at 33lbs 4ozs!

A Pallatrax 14mm Jungle boilie wrapped in matching paste successfully tripped up a new lake record for Matthew Davidson when he fished Devon venue Melbury just outside Bideford. Matthew presented his bait on Pallatrax terminal tackle and Fox rods to land this stunning 31lbs 12ozs mirror (below).

Pallatrax rod Ryan Lippitt got amongst the big barbel again on his recent visit to the Warwickshire Avon; Ryan used a simple rig comprising a Pallatrax Stonze weight to hold down his 3” Steamlink hook link and size 8 hook. Ryan told us; “I arrived at my chosen swim at around 4.30pm, and used a bait dropper to lay a bed of hemp over which I fished a Pallatrax tinned natural bait. As soon as it began to go dark, I had a chub of 5lbs, but a couple of hours later, my tip shot around and I was into the barbel! After safely netting and photographing the fish, it was weighed at 13lbs 4ozs before being returned to fight another day!”

What’s Happening?

Keep an eye out for Pallatrax tales in Angler’s Mail; Luke Ayling and Jez Brown have been on the rivers with star angler Gary Newman for Gary’s weekly adventure article, Ben Hervey-Murray is also going to be reviewing Pallatrax baits in the near future, and Clint Walker has a session on a Staffordshire commercial carp water in Coarse Angling Today which is due to be featured in early spring. Expect even more in 2012 as the Pallatrax Posse hit the headlines!
