Living The Bream

UKMA have just received another notable catch report from Gardner Tackle/Sonubaits backed rod Alan Stagg. We asked alan for details regarding the catch and this is what he had to say.

"My last session at the large 96 acre venue I have been targeting recently produced four double figure bream over a two day session weighing 12lb 5oz, 10lb 1oz, 10lb 2oz and 10lb 8oz.  All four bites came from a clay bar at 60 yards range using two pieces of Enterprise Tackle’s unflavoured sweetcorn, one sinking and one buoyant.  This is a great little rig as the imitation corn is balanced by the weight of the hook and the bait sits up the length of the hair.  Over the course of the session I used 30 litres of Sonubaits F1 and Supercursh Green groundbaits mixed with various sized pellets, sweetcorn and particles.  Tackle consisted of 10lb Hydro Tuff mainline, 2oz inline lead, 6 inches of Trickster braid and a size 8 Talon Tip hook.  "

"The venue allows the use of boats which has been a good learning curve and subsequently this has changed the way I have approached my bream fishing.  The clarity of the water has been good which has meant viewing baited areas after the bream have visited has been a real eye opener.  All my bites to date have fallen to Enterprise Tackle imitation sweetcorn and small 12mm boilies that I have been using on one rod have remained untouched.  The last couple of months have produced 37 fish with 14 double figure fish proving the power of the plastic when targeting bream. "
