Greys Prodigy Utility Tool Range

Lee Taylor has provided UKMA with a first look review of the Hardy/Greys Prodigy range of utility tools.

Greys Prodigy Catapults

First up we have the Prodigy Catapults where we have designed three catapults wiith a difference. You will first notice that compared to most Catapults on todays market , The frame on the Catapults is injection moulded with added strength , It does not flex in any way , so the bonus to this is everytime you pull the pouch back the frame remains in the same position. It does not flex so apart from when you pull your elastic back theres more consistancy in your use of these well made tool. So accuracy is improved!!

The elastic is a thick grade Green elastic , which runs from the inside of the frame  which is held in place by two inner pins. To gain access to the elastic inside the catapult you have two sliding caps which release , and with ease you can then adjust your elastic to your chosen length.. This also gives you 2-3 inches of spare elastic so you can adjust accordingly. The elastic runs from the frame up to the moulded rubber pouch.

The Prodigy catapult range comes in three sizes of pouch. The Largest which is superb for firing out Balls of groundbait. The second which is more suitable for smaller balls of Groundbait / Boilies / Particle baits such as large pellets. The Third pouch which is the smaller of the three  is for pellets , corn , meat , caster ect.....

The Prodigy Catapults will cater for all types of angler from the general coarse/match angler and speci angler.

Greys Prodigy Combined Baiting Needle & Drill

Hardy/Greys have designed  two sizes of baiting needle and drill.

These are a neat and tidy set up , which stores as one piece , but breaks down into three.

You will see on the video footage at the end of this article, exactly how it works, the principle is that each needle fits inside the handle of the other and the clear plastic cover stops the business end becoming damaged in transit..

The drill is used for harder baits such as pelllets and boilies and with the two sizes of drill bit, they will cope with it all.

The baiting needle is to a fine sharp point , of which will be a great  tool for  threading your bait onto your hair without wrecking the presentation of your chosen hook bait.

Greys Prodigy Long & Short Stringer/Baiting Needle

These are ideal for PVA bag work , and they come in two sizes the longer which is 7-8inches in length and the shorter which is 3 inches in length. Both are made of a strong materials for long lasting use.

Although we look at PVA bag and stringer work more for the specimen angler , more and more match and general coarse anglers are taking to this approach , and its an important bit of tackle to have in their tackle boxes for the future!

Also available is a standard baiting needle suitable for use with the majority of baits.

Greys Prodigy Rig & Braid Scissors

These high quality rig & braid scissors are super sharp, and with a quick snip, will keep your rigs and presentation clean cut and trim. Extremely sharp and long lasting!! Watch your fingers!!

They are suitable for both braid and mono lines.

Greys Prodigy Mini Forceps

The mini forceps are designed for the specialist and specimen angler ,and again, are made of high quality materials.

The mini forceps are perfect for removing both small and larger hook sizes - both barbed and barbless.

The handles are unlike normal forceps that can cause a pain in cold weather on the fingers.

They will not fail to do the job they are intended to do. Not to big and will fit in all tackle boxes.
