Jack Pyke of England

Countryman Stainless Steel Flask

RRP £15.00

There is nothing like a hot cuppa to take the edge of a cold miserable winter day by a lake or river. No matter what species of fish you are targeting or your approach, when sport is slow, we can all find time for a brew. Unlike the session or specialist anglers, the match anglers out there don’t have the time to set up a stove and boil a kettle so these poor unfortunates have to choose the only other practical option, a vacumn Flask.

One very practical Thermos option is the Jack Pyke of England, Stainless Steel Flask. Manufactured using high quality 18-8 stainless steel and is finished of in a Matt Green anti-glare coating. The lid incorporates a two-way pourer; you simply have to turn the lid half a turn to make it possible to pour your chosen beverage from the flask with out any spillage or fuss. Once you’ve done simply tighten down to re-seal and keep your beverage hot.

TOP TIP ONE - To keep your hot beverages at optimum temperature, boil a kettle and fill the flask with boiling water and secure the lid, about twenty minutes before you plan to use it. This pre-heats the vacumn chamber and means that the heat from your chosen drink remains the same for a longer period.

TOP TIP TWO – When your night fishing in the depths of winter and temperatures are plummeting. Prepare a flask of boiling water before you go to sleep, you will then have enough hot water to make 4 to 5 cups of tea ready and waiting. This saves time out in the cold and stops you freezing your berries off, after landing a fish.

Final Thoughts

The Jack Pyke Stainless Steel Flask has a 1000ml capacity which is more than enough, even for the hardcore tea and coffee drinkers amongst you. It looks like it was made for outdoor situations and it carries an “Unbreakable” banner which is quite reassuring if you have a Flask-to-Break ratio like mine.
First impression showed that this flask keeps liquids boiling hot for up to 9 hours which is more than enough for most winter sessions and is vary compact and easy to transport. A must have accessory for any angler who braves the elements during the cold winter months.
