Nash Tackle
Zero Tolerance ZT Sub Zero Hoodie

After two of the worst winter that I can remember and with pretty much more of the same being predicted by the weathermen for the future. I have over the past year been seriously reconsidering my winter angling clothing. Although my usual winter garment were more than capable of protecting me from our usual mix of wintery delights, with these extremes of climate, a whole new level of clothing is required to protect us from the severity of weather that we can now expect to experience whilst out on the bank. So for the clinically insane (myself included) who brave these conditions for the love of the sport, here’s something you should seriously consider having a look at.

The New for 2012 Zero Tolerance ZT Sub Zero Hoodie from Nash Tackle is a very serious piece of kit. This exceptionally warm Hoodie is manufactured from the highest quality windstopper style fleece material that definitely keeps the warmth in and is capable of repelling the coldest of winds. This very fashionably styled Hoodie features a front pouch pocket with a zip at either end to security of your keys, wallet and phone, plus if you only want to keep one hand in the pocket the opposite zip can be closed to increase comfort. To make the putting on and taking off of the Hoodie a much easier task, Nash have fitted a diagonal neck zip for added performance and comfort.

Once you have the ZT Sub Zero Hoodie on there are three different forms of elastication in place to assist in eliminating any drafts entering the hoodie. On the comfortably large hood of the garment you have a toggle fitted either side to allow tension to be added to create a wind tight seal around your face and neck when the elements are really trying to give you a bit of a battering. Add to this the fully elasticated wait band with adjustment toggles on either side plus the secure yet comfortably elasticated cuffs and you have yourself one top of the range clothing accessory that will give exceptional protection from the bitterest of winds.

Final Thoughts

To fully test the ZT Sub Zero Hoodie’s performance out on the bank, we took it out in the middle of December, with 20mph winds and on the day, the wind the chill factor that kept temperatures down to 1°C or below for our 7 hour bank-side session. To make things interesting, I decided to be a bit of a hero and only wear the ZT Sub Zero Hoodie with only a thermal, long sleeved t-shirt underneath. After a few hours of standing about, waiting for bite that never actually materialised, I was more than impressed by the protection from the elements and the general all round comfort that the ZT Sub Zero Hoodie can offer, even in these bitterly cold conditions.

The Zero Tolerance ZT Sub Zero Hoodie from Nash Tackle is in the opinion of the UKMA team an essential garment for winter angling that should be on any serious winter angler’s wish list. As I’m far from being a small chap (18 stone) I opted for the XXL size option and this fitted me perfectly, with plenty of room for under garments if needed. For the RRP of £57.99 you get possibly the best value for money and all round performance Hoodie I have personally tested. The Zero Tolerance ZT Sub Zero Hoodie is an out and out winter’s garment that will make your time in your bivvi or on the bank a very comfortable affair even on the coldest of days.
