First Impressions

The jury is still out on the great debate over braid versus mono mainlines and it will continue for ever and a day or as long as anglers have there own individual opinions. There is no question that the majority of braided mainlines cast better than mono and offers better bite indication because of the zero stretch construction of braids. So with braided mainlines pretty much dominate the continental circuits where extreme casting distances and snag riddled environments are the norm. It was only going to be a matter of time before these high quality braided mainlines were to hit the English carp scene in a big way. Gator Braid 2-Tone has a round profile and comes in a camouflage colour two tone green coloration and is sold in 0.26mm (25lbs) which or perfect for all specialist situations including big tidal river work when targeting big chub, bream, barbel and carp and  all still water work. The bigger 0.30 (30lbs) is better suited to all extremes of fresh water fishing including all big fish work including predators like catfish and big reservoir pike. Both sizes are sold on 1000 meters (1100 yards) bulk spools which is more than enough to fill 3 shallow big pit reel spools. Each bulk spool of Gator Braid 2-Tone will set you back £99.99 at full RRP, admittedly this is not the cheapest braid on the market but when you’re buying a top quality product nothing is.
