Snowbee, Nylon Chest Waders

Over the years, UKMA have had numerous makes and types of chest waders, but none of them were exactly what we required. When Snowbee offered to send us a pair of their nylon waders, we accepted and as Snowbee are one of the biggest names in waders and boots, we hoped that they would be what we had been looking for.

Manufactured from a hard wearing, yet supple nylon, the Snowbee chest waders were very easy to slip on and off compared to others that we had used. The lower boot is manufactured from a rubber compound that is extremely comfortable, The sole of the boot has been cut and grooved to offer optimum grip on wet banks or on the bottom of the venues that the angler is wading into. We tested the FB (full bodied) version that is designed for the slightly more portly angler (something that a lot of manufacturers tend to forget), and the cut of the material was superb in the fit.

The inside leg measurement was perfect for ourselves – of which we both have a longer leg measurement – and offered great comfort when walking, sitting or standing in the waders. The sides of the waders are fitted with adjustable waist straps on either side, that allow the middle section of the material to be tightened up to fit the angler snugly. On other chest waders we have found that having the material flapping around loose, makes wading above waist level uncomfortable.

At the top of the wader, there is an elasticated strap that is tightened via a toggle to pull the top of the waders tight to the chest, eliminating water ingress into the waders via splashing from waves. On the inside of the chest section, there is a large pocket that can be used to house items that the angler may need whilst wading (UKMA would use this pocket to store loose offerings in when placing baits through wading). The shoulder straps are adjustable, and are hard wearing, with standard clip buckle fittings for quick removal. The straps are finished off in a nice and unobtrusive Snowbee branding. The light olive green colour of the material is not going to stand out like a beacon on the bank unlike some of the other chest waders available. We have used these waders on the bank on a session and they performed admirably, and we are looking forward to using them in the future. The Snowbee Nylon Chest Waders are available in both standard and full-bodied sizes in all the standard shoe sizes.

They are not the cheapest chest waders available, but these are a top quality item that have been made to last and perform as well for years down the line as they did when first bought. The Snowbee Nylon Chest Waders can be found in all good tackle shops around £55 in price. Well worth checking out if you are in the market for some new chest waders indeed.
